MycoKey : the genus Phellorinia

Generic short diagnoses: Strange club-shaped gasteromycete with coarse peeling scales, initially very pale and only much later becoming buff to brownish; gleba with powdery, warty fairly small spores and persisting bundles of short, clavate, 4-spored basidia.
