MycoKey : the genus Macrolepiota

Generic short diagnoses: Very elegant, large, mostly umbonate, fleshy, more or less squamulose, white- or pinkish spored agarics with free lamellae. Stipe ± ornamented, often bulbous; complex loose annulus present; spores with germ pore but overlaid with hyaline cap, thick-walled and dextrinoid.
