MycoKey : the genus Geastrum

Generic short diagnoses: Closed, globose to onion-shaped, fairly big fruitbodies that open the outer peridium in a stellate pattern to expose an inner ball containing powdery spores or a naked mass of powdery spores held together by capillitial threads.
