MycoKey : the genus Bovista

Generic short diagnoses: Smallish, often ± globose puffballs with none or very limited and then compact sterile tissue, often a torn, irregular, smallish opening, no diaphragm and often with long sterigmal remnants on the spores and with highly branched to less branched (as in Lycoperdon), elastic capillitium.
