Generic short diagnoses: Brown-spored (dull) ectotrophic, mostly fleshy agarics, either with membranaceous to cortinate veil or without veil; spores verrucose (dextrinoid or not) and cheilocystidia fairly differentiated; often with a characteristic smell (radish/sweet nauseous/cocoa).
