| Synopsis Methodica Fungorum was issued by C.H. Persoon in 1801. It first functioned as starting point for the fungi. Later its status was changed, and names included in Synopsis is now regarded as sanctioned towards earlier names. The same status is held by Fries' Systema Fungorum (1821-32) and Elenchus Fungorum (1828). The present startingpoint in fungal nomenclature is Linne (1753) |
